Bentley Unveils New 670-hp High Performance Hybrid Powertrain For Continental GT, GTC And Flying Spur - autojosh

New Continental GT, Continental GTC and Flying Spur now available with a new performance hybrid powertrain.

The new High Performance Hybrid powertrain unites an advanced 4.0-litre V8 engine and powerful electric motor.

High Performance Hybrid puts out 670-hp and 930 Nm, second only to 771-hp Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain in Speed models

But it still outperforms the previous gen’s W12 Speed powertrain on all performance parameters, including 50 miles of pure electric range.

Bentley Motors has expanded its electrified lineup with the debut of a new High Performance Hybrid powertrain option with 670-hp for its Continental GT, Continental GT Convertible (GTC) and the Flying Spur models.

With 670-hp and 930 Nm of torque, the second V8 plug-in hybrid option joins but sits below the more powerful Ultra Performance Hybrid unit with 771-hp and 1,000 Nm of torque, which was introduced in 2024 for the Speed models.

With the new High Performance Hybrid powertrain, which unites an advanced 4.0-litre V8 engine and powerful electric motor, Bentley’s two-door and four-door sedan models are now exclusively powered by electrified V8 engines.

While it sits just below the brand’s Ultra Performance Hybrid found in the Speed models, the new High Performance Hybrid powertrain still outperforms the previous generation’s W12 Speed powertrain on all performance parameters, including 50 miles (80 km) of pure electric range.

The V8 High Performance Hybrid powertrain allows the new 4-gen Continental GT to do 0-60 mph sprint in 3.5 seconds (0-100 km/h in 3.7 secs) while the Continental GT Convertible will do this in less impressive 3.8 secs (0-100 km/h in 3.9 secs).

Electric-only range is 53 miles (85 km) for the Continental GT and 51 miles (82 km) for the Continental GTC. The new High Performance Hybrid powertrain allows the Flying Spur sedan to reach 60 mph from rest in 3.8 seconds (0-100 km/h in 3.9 secs).
