Gordon Murray T.33 Spider Revealed, Roofless Supercar Costs $2.4 Million, Limited To 100
Gordon Murray Automotive reveals GMA T.33 Spider, a topless supercar based on the already sold out T.33 Coupe.
GMA T.33 Spider is powered by 607-horsepower 3.9-litre, naturally-aspirated Cosworth-developed V12 engine.
T.33 Spider starts at £1.89 million (about $2.4 million) before taxes, or about £500k more than the sold out Coupe model.
Production will be limited to 100 examples to ‘ensure exclusivity and offer a highly personalised customer experience’.
UK-based Gordon Murray Automotive, owned by automotive genius behind legendary McLaren F1 road car, has unveiled an open-top Spider variant of its eagerly anticipated GMA T.33 Coupe mid-engine supercar.
Based on the already sold out GMA T.33 Coupe, the topless supercar, called T.33 Spider, is a limited-run performance model designed to create a pure driving experience full of feedback and emotion.
Speaking at the unveiling on Tuesday, Professor Gordon Murray said :
“When drawing a car I imagine what it’s going to feel like to sit in, and how it will feel to drive.
“So from the first sketch, I knew that, with its open cockpit and the incredible Cosworth GMA.2 V12 engine right behind you, the T.33 Spider would deliver a truly involving driving experience that’s quite unlike anything else.”

“And while it’s still a mid-engine supercar I wouldn’t accept any compromise on usability: this is why the T.33 Spider is unique in the supercar sector in delivering both onboard roof storage and a 295 litre luggage capacity.” said Murray.
GMA hasn’t revealed the pricing, but T.33 Spider is expected to cost from around £1.89 million (about $2.36 million) before taxes, or about £500,000 more than the sold out Coupe model that starts at £1.37 million.
The T.33 is powered by 3.9-litre, naturally-aspirated Cosworth-developed V12 engine, that churns out 607-horsepower and 451Nm of torque.
GMA has not reveal the performance figures of its new topless supercar, but the T.33 Spider will likely be able to achieve a top speed in excess of 200mph.
To ‘ensure exclusivity and offer a highly personalised customer experience’, production of the topless supercar will be strictly limited to 100 examples and it will be built by hand.
Distinct feature include a pair of hidden 90-litre luggage compartments in the rear sides of the T.33 Spider. The compartments can be accessed when the dihedral doors are opened at the push a button.
“The mechanisms through which these doors and stowage compartments open are works of engineering art and design ingenuity – their seamless operation being vital to ensure that T.33 Spider is a truly usable supercar,’ the British brand says.
