10 Cases When Your Smart Key May Not Work Properly

Smart key technology is one cool feature a car can come with. With this smart key, you don’t have to insert a key in the ignition to start your car; just place the smart key in the right place, step on the brake pedal and then push the engine start button. You can as well lock and unlock your car without inserting in any key anywhere.

There are times when your smart key may not work properly, hence, you’ll find it difficult to use.

We were able to put together 10 different cases when your smart key may not work properly, and they are:





1. When facilities issuing strong electromagnetic waves such as TV towers, electric power stations, broadcasting stations are nearby.

2. In places where automated payments facilities are installed.

3. When you’re carrying an electronic key together with a mobile communications system such as a two-way radio or cellular phone.

4. When the electronic key is in contact with or covered by a metallic object.

5. When another person is operating a wireless remote control function on another vehicle near your vehicle.

6. When the battery is discharged.

7. When the electronic key is near a high-voltage or noise-emitting device.





8. When you are carrying an electronic key together with a key for another smart key system equipped vehicle or another instrument emitting radio waves.

9. Depending on the position of the key or vehicle body shape, the key may not work well even within the actuation area.

10. When the key surface is covered by a sticker, etc. that may cut off electromagnetic wave.
