Xiaomi YU7 first electric SUV got over 289,000 orders in 60 minutes and 240,000 lock-in orders within 18 hours.

Xiaomi’s YU7 comes in three variants — Standard, Pro, and Max — all priced between 253,000 – 329,900 yuan (35,300 – 46,000 USD).

Entry-level Standard variant deliver 835 km range with its 96.3 kWh battery, making it the longest-range pure electric SUV.





While there are plans for expansion to accommodate the YU7, Xiaomi’s automated production line can build forty SU7 sedans per hour.

Xiaomi’s YU7 SUV is essentially sold out till early 2027 after the Chinese brand received 289,000 orders in an hour and 240,000 lock-in orders within 18 hours, following the announcement of the pricing.

Due to limited capacity at Xiaomi’s Beijing plant, some customers may have to wait till next year while those who were fast enough to pay a 20,000 yuan lock-in deposit will have their car delivered soon, according to Car News China.

Xiaomi YU7 comes in three variants — Standard, Pro, and Max — all priced between 253,000 – 329,900 yuan (35,300 – 46,000 USD). The entry-level Standard variant deliver an exceptional 835 km range with its 96.3 kWh battery, making it the longest-range pure electric SUV.

In comparison, Xiaomi received 50,000 preorders in 27 minutes and nearly 90,000 preorders in the first 24 hours for the SU7 after the brand’s its first-ever electric car swiftly captured the interest of consumers in China moments after its launch last year.

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer had earlier given us a sneak shot of its Super Factory in Beijing, China, where more than 700 robots carry out tasks such as installation, inspection, and transportation.

While there are plans for expansion to accommodate the YU7, the automated production line at its factory can build forty (40) SU7 sedans per hour, which is equivalent to a new car rolling off the assembly line every 1 minutes 30 seconds or 90 seconds.
