Kwara is a state in Western Nigeria. Its capital is Ilorin. Kwara is located within the North Central geopolitical zone. The primary ethnic group is Yoruba, with significant Fulani, Nupe, and Bariba minorities.

Civil unrest is a major threat factor in this state, fuelled by clashes between commercial drivers and GSF, Communal clashes, and ethno-religious skirmishes within the metropolis.

Cultism is also prevalent in some areas such as the Aduralere area in Ilorin East LGA.

Kidnap risk also threatens travel security, and routes such as the Ogundele/Madi rd in Ilorin West LGA and other routes with low GSF visibility carry higher levels of risk during travel.

High levels of conflict between farmers and herdsmen threaten travel in the rural areas of this state.

Isolated areas with minimal government security force presence carry increased risk during this time, and travel should be conducted within the metropolis and areas with high government security force visibility to ensure personal safety during this time.

Additional layers of security may be required to ensure safety during travel to affected areas, and confrontations should be actively avoided at this time.

A drilled journey management plan is advised, and general travel should be conducted between the times of 0800hrs-1700hrs.
