First customer examples of Hurtan Grand Albaycin, a retro-inspired sports car based on Mazda MX-5 Miata, rolls off assembly line.

The first customer vehicles of Hurtan’s latest product are ready to be delivered to clients in Japan, Italy, Germany, and Switzerland.

The rebodied MX-5 is available in cabriolet or a targa version, with each taking between four and six months to complete.

The Grand Albaycin is limited to just 30 units, with one powered by 1.5 starting at €59,000 while the 2.0-litre variant starts at €63,200.

Early in the year, Spanish coachbuilder Hurtan unveiled the new Grand Albaycin, a stunning, retro-inspired hand-built sports car that is based on a Mazda MX-5 Miata.

Now, the first customer vehicles of Hurtan’s latest product have started rolling off the production line and are ready to be delivered to clients in Japan, Italy, Germany, and Switzerland.

The rebodied Mazda MX-5 Miata is available in cabriolet or a targa version, with each custom-built Grand Albaycin taking between four and six months to complete by five specialized departments.

Grand Albaycin feature a striking two-tone body, flared fenders, round headlights, a central chrome grille and a 17 ″ wheels inspired by spoke wheels. Inside, it is decked with elegant wood finishes, perforated leather upholstery, matching upholstered panels and accessories.

Powering the new Hurtan Grand Albaycin is a Mazda-sourced 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 132 hp, that is only available with a six-speed manual. A 184-hp 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine is also available, which can be configured with a six-speed automatic transmission.

The Grand Albaycin is limited to just 30 units, with the one powered by 1.5 starting at €59,000 while the 2.0-litre variant starts at €63,200 — both prices excluding the local taxes and destination charges in Nigeria.
