BMW’s New Vision K18 Is A Jet-inspired Bike With Six Intakes, Six Tailpipes And Six Headlights
BMW Motorrad’s new vision K18 is a jet-inspired high-performance bike with six intakes, six tailpipes and six headlights.
Powered by a six-cylinder engine with 1800 cc, which BMW said shapes the entire appearance of the high-performance bike.
Vision K18 has a hand-formed aluminium bodywork, a forged carbon elements and a hydraulically lowerable suspension.

BMW’s motorcycle division, BMW Motorrad, presented the all-new Vision K18 bike to the public for the first time at an exclusive setting of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este on Lake Como in Northern Italy.
Conceived as a one-off vision bike, the BMW Motorrad Vision K18 features an elongated, aircraft-inspired design with six intakes, six tailpipes and six LED headlights.

“The Vision K 18 has an arrow-shaped silhouette, much like the wings of a jet,” the developers explain, adding that “Everything about the Vision K 18 is extreme”, including the clear design.
The beating heart of the Vision K 18 is a six-cylinder engine with 1800 cc, which BMW Motorrad said shapes the entire appearance of the high-performance bike – and “at the same time was the starting point for the vision”.

The concept also features “The Heat of Speed” dubbed the central element of the Vision K18. This visual guiding concept utilizes a heat-haze effect to make the power of bike’s inline six-cylinder engine visually tangible.
Vision K18 has a hand-formed aluminium bodywork – including a seamless side panel that stretches more than two meters long, a forged carbon elements, a hydraulically lowerable suspension and an actively cooled headlight.

“With the BMW Motorrad Vision K18, we show how we interpret performance, luxury and emotion in a new, very confident way. For us, the inline six-cylinder is far more than an engine – it is a statement,” said Markus Flasch, CEO BMW Motorrad.
“The Vision K18 translates this power into a sculptural form that makes dynamism and speed tangible even at a standstill. This bike stands for our passion to redefine the boundaries of design and performance repeatedly.”
