LeBron James’ Bespoke Mercedes-Maybach S-Class To Be Auctioned For Charity

Gooding Christie’s is set to auction a specially customized Mercedes-Maybach S 680 ultra-luxury sedan created by NBA and Philadelphia 76ers star LeBron James to support the LeBron James Family Foundation and its work with families in Akron, Ohio.
Set to be auctioned next month during Rétromobile New York, which runs from November 19 to 22, 2026, the luxury sedan is one of two nearly identical vehicles created through Mercedes-Benz’s MANUFAKTUR Made to Measure personalisation programme.

While the 41-year-old NBA star, nicknamed “King James”, will keep one for his personal collection, the second, nearly identical Mercedes-Maybach S 680 will be offered at auction to raise funds for his foundation.

The former Los Angeles (LA) basketball star was personally involved in the design process, incorporating exclusive colours, bespoke details and personal references that reflect his family and hometown.
“There will only ever be two in the world made like this, which makes them incredibly special and unique,” LeBron stated, describing it as an “incredible opportunity to be part of the creative process for these two customized Mercedes-Maybach S-Class vehicles.”

The Mercedes-Maybach sedan features an exclusive light ivory non-metallic exterior, with James’ personal “LJ” crown logos replacing the traditional V12 badge. Additional bespoke details reference his family and Akron.
Like the exterior, the cabin—finished in dark blue interior upholstered in Nappa leather and Alcantara—boasts unique features, including a personalised “LJ” crown logos that replaces the Maybach emblems on the rear seats.

Under the bonnet, the Mercedes-Maybach S 680 features a 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine producing 621 horsepower (630 PS). The luxury saloon combines powerful performance with an exceptionally refined cabin and extensive personalisation.
The proceeds from the sale will support the foundation’s initiatives in education, housing and healthcare. The auction also offers collectors an opportunity to acquire an exceptionally personalised Mercedes-Maybach created by the NBA legend.
