Three Rare 1926 Bugatti Type 41 Royales Reunite at Bugatti’s Spiritual Home to Mark 100th Anniversary
This year’s 2026 Bugatti Festival, organized by the Enthousiastes Bugatti Alsace (EBA), marked the 43rd Molsheim Festival, where enthusiasts and visitors celebrated the 100th anniversary of the rare and legendary Bugatti Type 41 Royale at brand’s spiritual home in France.
The event brought the past and the future together in a breathtaking display of automotive luxury. But the crown jewel of the entire weekend was an extraordinary historic reunion of three of the six surviving Royales in the world at the Château Saint Jean grounds.
The trio of legendary, six-metre-long cars on display included the famous Coupé Napoléon, Ettore Bugatti’s personal masterpiece, alongside the beautifully crafted Coupé de Ville Binder and the Park-Ward Limousine. Together, they showcased the absolute pinnacle of 1920s bespoke coachbuilding.

Under the massive bonnets of these rolling sculptures sits a remarkable engineering feat: a colossal 12.7-litre inline-eight engine producing up to 300 horsepower. The powerplant helps propel the 3.5-tonne vehicles to around 200 km/h (124 mph).
More than 70 classic Bugatti vehicles owned by collectors from around the world joined the massive weekend celebration. The lineup included iconic Type 35 Grand Prix racers and sleek Type 57 Grand Tourers, all meticulously maintained and driven by enthusiastic owners.
“To see three Royale automobiles in Molsheim—especially at the home of the brand—alongside historic Bugatti creations, passionate collectors, customers and enthusiasts, was a moving reminder of what makes Bugatti unique,” Christophe Piochon, President of Bugatti Automobiles, said of the rare reunion of three Royales at the home of the brand.
True to the spirit of the festival, the event wasn’t just about vintage relics. These pre-war masterpieces shared the manicured lawns with Bugatti’s newest modern powerhouses, creating a stunning visual contrast of speed, design and engineering evolution.
Spectators were treated to the public debut of the all-new V16-powered Bugatti Tourbillon, the marque’s latest masterpiece. Alongside it stood the open-top W16 Mistral and various highly customized iterations of the Chiron, the Veyron, and the EB110 Super Sport.
The 2026 Bugatti festival peaked with a grand public parade called the Petit Tour through the streets of Molsheim, where thousands of fans lined the roads to watch 20 Bugatti hyper sports cars, including the Tourbillon, Chiron and Veyron, drive past.
