Mercedes-AMG Unveils All-new GT, A 1,169-hp Electric SUV With Sports Car DNA

Mercedes-Benz’s performance division has unveiled the new Mercedes-AMG GT SUV, an in-house-developed, all-electric performance SUV that combines sports car dynamics with the space, comfort and practicality of a full-size luxury SUV.
Based on Mercedes-AMG’s dedicated AMG.EA electric performance platform, first used by the recently unveiled AMG GT 4-Door Coupé, the Mercedes-AMG GT SUV will be offered in three variants: the GT 53, GT 55 and range-topping GT 63.

“With the Mercedes-AMG GT SUV, we are offering our customers a vehicle that uniquely combines two worlds for the first time…. In short: SUV by Shape. GT by Nature,” said Stefan Weckbach, CEO of Mercedes-AMG, describing the vehicle’s blend of SUV practicality and sports car character.

The flagship GT 63 SUV features three electric motors producing up to 1,169 horsepower. Mercedes-AMG says it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.5 seconds, with a top speed of 270 km/h (168 mph) when equipped with the optional Driver’s Package.
The GT 55 delivers up to 816 hp, while the entry-level GT 53 produces 544 hp from two electric motors. Depending on the variant, the SUV uses a 106 kWh or 128 kWh battery, with a maximum claimed driving range of up to 700 km (435 miles).

Mercedes-AMG’s new 800-volt electrical architecture supports DC charging at up to 710 kW. With the larger battery, the company says charging from 10 to 80 per cent can take as little as 12 minutes under suitable conditions.
The GT SUV also features AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL+ suspension, active rear-wheel steering and variable all-wheel drive. Its aerodynamic system includes an active roof spoiler designed to improve efficiency and stability at speeds above 150 km/h (93 mph).

The cabin features a driver-focused cockpit and advanced MBUX infotainment technology with artificial intelligence integration. Its dashboard includes a driver-angled 14-inch multimedia display, a 10.2-inch instrument cluster and an optional separate 14-inch display for the front passenger.
The Mercedes-AMG GT 53 SUV will be available to order from October 20, 2026, in Germany, starting at €113,050. The GT 55 and GT 63 variants are scheduled to follow in spring 2027, positioning the new electric SUV as a high-performance rival to the all-electric Porsche Cayenne in the luxury SUV segment.
