Porsche has unveiled the Mission S, a vision model that previews the future direction of its sports car design and introduces a new mid-engined super sports car platform planned to sit above the iconic 911 sports car.

Revealed on October 15, 2026, the concept forms part of Porsche’s ‘Sportwagenschmiede ’35’ strategic realignment, offering a first glimpse of the design identity and engineering direction that will shape its future products.

Unlike a one-off hypercar, the planned super sports car is intended to become a permanent addition to Porsche’s lineup and expand its ongoing customer offering, according to Porsche CEO Dr Michael Leiters.

“A Porsche must be recognisable as a Porsche at first glance,” says Leiters, adding that “the Mission S provides a glimpse of the ideas and design features that will shape Porsche in the coming years.”

Boasting familiar Porsche design cues with contemporary styling, the exterior features a distinctive roofline inspired by the 911, 959 and Porsche GT1, an integrated active rear wing, and lightweight-focused wheels inspired by the Porsche 928.

Underneath its sculpted bodywork, the Mission S adopts a mid-engined layout, with the engine positioned centrally. However, Porsche has not disclosed the powertrain’s displacement, output, acceleration figures or top speed.

Its dashboard combines physical buttons and switches with digital displays, while five round instruments sit behind the steering wheel. The central rev counter features an analogue needle alongside a digital display.

The interior also draws inspiration from historic Porsche sports cars such as the 550 Spyder and the 356. Instead of a permanently integrated central touchscreen or a fixed passenger display, the Mission S features a retractable smartphone holder compatible with MagSafe, allowing the driver’s phone to serve as a navigation or information screen when required.
