Chelsea Goalkeeper Emiliano “Dibu” Martínez Receives New Ford Mustang GT From Ford Argentina

Chelsea and Argentina’s FIFA 2022 World Cup-winning goalkeeper Emiliano “Dibu” Martínez has taken delivery of a brand-new seventh-generation (S650) Ford Mustang GT Fastback, courtesy of Ford Argentina.
The 34-year-old shot-stopper took to social media to share photos posing alongside the sleek, all-black V8 muscle car in Argentina, shortly after his participation in Argentina’s 7-0 rout of Burkina Faso on October 4, 2026.

The gesture comes as Ford Argentina celebrates the 65th anniversary of its historic General Pacheco Assembly Plant in Buenos Aires, which currently produces the Ford Ranger pickup for regional and global export markets and reached an extraordinary milestone last year, surpassing 3.5 million units produced.

In his post, Martínez expressed his gratitude to the American automaker, writing: “Thank you @fordargentina for always accompanying me. Happy 65 years of the Plant in Pacheco, in a country we love as much as Argentina!”
The latest S650 iteration of the iconic American pony car features aggressive aerodynamic styling, distinctive tri-bar LED headlights and a cabin highlighted by a 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13.2-inch touchscreen with SYNC 4.

It is powered by Ford’s naturally aspirated 5.0-litre Coyote V8 engine, while high-performance variants such as the Dark Horse SC and GTD feature more powerful V8 powertrains. The Dark Horse SC can accelerate from 0–60 mph in approximately 3.0 seconds and has a top speed of more than 155 mph.
Martínez has maintained a close relationship with Ford Argentina as a brand partner and ambassador. The former Aston Villa goalkeeper was previously seen driving a Ford Mustang Mach 1 to training sessions at the Argentine Football Association (AFA) complex in Ezeiza.
