€6.8M Bugatti! F1 Champ Fernando Alonso Spotted in Ultra-Rare Veyron With Polished Bodywork

Two-time Formula 1 world champion and Aston Martin driver Fernando Alonso has been spotted driving an ultra-rare 2015 Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse in Monaco, with the highly customised supercar reportedly costing up to €6.8 million to build.
Originally commissioned by a Bugatti collector before eventually finding its way into Alonso’s garage, the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse is distinguished by its highly polished bodywork, which reportedly required around 20 tonnes of aluminium to give the roadster its shiny, striking appearance.

This extensive bespoke aluminium work reportedly added approximately €4.5 million to the cost, bringing the estimated build cost to about €6.8 million and making it one of the most expensive Veyrons ever produced. The standard open-top Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse started at around €2.3 million.
Underneath its distinctive bodywork is a quad-turbocharged W16 engine, which allows the 1,200-hp Grand Sport Vitesse to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.6 seconds. With its roof closed, it can reach 410 km/h (255 mph), although its top speed is electronically limited to 375 km/h (233 mph).

While the actual amount the F1 driver paid to own this build remains unknown, the uniquely commissioned Veyron is undoubtedly among the most valuable and exclusive cars to have appeared in Alonso’s garage.
The sighting in Monaco comes more than four months after the Spaniard, who reportedly earns $20 million with the British racing team, took delivery of a Pagani Zonda Diamante Verde, a one-off car thought to be worth more than $10 million.
