Scammer Arrested While Buying Two Kia SUVs With A Fake ID Bearing A Dead Person’s Name
Moment 63 year old scammer got arrested while trying to buy two Kia SUVs with a fake ID bearing a dead person’s name.
Memphis police said the man was arrested after completing the purchase paperwork, already had the keys to both SUVs.
The two Kia Telluride SUVs he was trying to buy at Gossett Kia are range-topping models valued at a combined $158,885.
He was charged with Forgery $60k – $250k and Attempted Theft of Property $60k – $250k. His bond has been set at $50k.

A 63 year old suspect was arrested right inside a car dealership in the U.S while attempting to use a fake ID bearing a dead person’s name to buy two (2) Kia Telluride SUVs valued at a combined $158,885.
According to Memphis police, the man was arrested on August 10th after completing the purchase paperwork at Gossett Kiaand has already had the keys to both vehicles.

After realizing something was wrong, the sales team at the dealership allowed the man to go through the vehicle purchase process to keep him onsite until the police arrived.
A now-viral TikTok video shows the moment the man was arrested while being congratulated by the dealership for his news rides, following the arrival of the police : “Wait a minute, what’s going on here?” he said, as he his being handcuffed.

“Officers took the male into custody after he completed the purchase paperwork. He had the keys to both vehicles at the time of his arrest. The vehicles were valued at $158,885.00.
“William Hayes, 63, was charged with Forgery $60,000-$250,000 and Attempted Theft of Property $60,000-$250,000,” Memphis Police said, adding that his bond has been set at $50,000 to get out of jail.
