German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) completes endurance tests of 5 Mercedes G-Class Wolf 2s after ordering 1,500 units.
During the successful endurance tests, the five test vehicles covered 16,000 km (9,942 miles) in various conditions.
First 1,500 units will be delivered by mid-2026, with the possibility of supplying up to 5,800 Wolf 2 to Bundeswehr by 2032.

The German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) has announced the completion of endurance tests with five (5) Military-grade Mercedes-Benz G-Class Wolf 2 (W464) vehicles, which began in November 2024.
During the successful endurance tests carried out at the Military Technical Center (WTD) 41 in Trier, the five test vehicles covered 16,000 km (9,942 miles) in various conditions.

The completion of test follows the signing of a framework contract between Mercedes-Benz and the German Armed Forces for the purchase of 1,500 G-Class vehicles reportedly valued at 1.3 billion euros.
“Who knows and doesn’t like him, the wolf of the Bundeswehr? Loud and agile, but sturdy and reliable,” Bundeswehr wrote in a post on its social media pages while announcing the completion of the endurance tests.

“From 90 km/h you need hearing protection and the cover plane beats the outside to the beat of marching music, but it brings you from A to B even under the most adverse conditions.”
“… This one listens to the catchy name Wolf 2 and offers better protection, higher mobility and more equipment. 1,500 have already been commissioned, by the end of 2032, it can become 5,800.”

According to the German Army, the first 1,500 units will be delivered by mid-2026, with the possibility of supplying up to 5,800 Wolf 2 offroad vehicles for the needs of the Bundeswehr by 2032.
Built on the chassis of the latest Mercedes-Benz G-Class (W464), the military G 350 d Wolf 2 is set to replace the previous G 250 d Wolf (W461) from the 90s. It is powered by the 3-liter inline 6-cylinder engine from the civilian G 450 d (W464), producing 367-hp and 750 Nm.
