GAC Aion Begins Deliveries Of 1,200-hp Hyper SSR Electric Supercar With Scissors Doors, Starts At $176k

GAC Aion begins first customers deliveries of Hyper SSR electric supercar with scissors doors, starts at $176,000.

SSR – which stands for “Super, Sport, Race” – will be available in three variants and priced betw. $176,380 and $231,250.

Standard Hyper SSR reaches 60-mph in 2.3 seconds, while the Sprint and Ultimate versions will do this in a blistering 1.9 seconds.

On the outside, the two-seater electric supercar from GAC Aion features scissor doors that open upwards like on a McLaren.

GAC Aion, an all-electric marque of China’s Guangzhou Automobile Corporation (GAC) Group has began first customer deliveries of tri-motor Hyper SSR supercar in China nearly a year after its debut in September 2022.

According to GAC Aion, the 1,224-horsepower Hyper SSR – which stands for “Super, Sport, Race” – will be available in three variants and priced between $176,380 and $231,250.

Hyper SSR – 1,286,000 yuan ($176,380)

Hyper SSR Sprint – 1,386,000 yuan ($190,100)

Hyper SSR Ultimate – 1,686,000 yuan ($231,250)

Designed to rival Rimac Nevera and Tesla’s Roadster, the SSR comes equipped with a drivetrain allows the standard Hyper SSR to reach 60-mph in 2.3 seconds, while the Sprint and Ultimate versions will do this in a blistering 1.9 seconds.

On the outside, the two-seater electric supercar from GAC Aion features scissor doors that open upwards like on a McLaren, and has an active rear spoiler. Unlike the Enpulse concept car, the Hyper SSR does not have convertible roof.

Inside, it packs a large 14.6-inch tablet touchscreen, a compact 8.9-inch digital instrument pack, rectangular steering wheel and two heated and ventilated electronically adjustable seats.

According to Car News China reports, the Hyper SSR supercar has a top speed of 155 mph (250 kmh) and can travel 314 miles (506 km) on a full charge of its 75 kWh battery.
