Edo Police ordered to arrest drivers of vehicles with tinted glass, covered/no number plates and unregistered vehicles.

Edo Comm’r of Police says the order will curb the menace of criminals, especially kidnapping, robbery and cultism in the State.

Edo State joins a list of Nigerian states that has banned vehicles with tinted glass and covered/no number plates.

Delta, Lagos and Benue have also made the move, amidst rising terrorism, militancy and kidnapping in the country.

Edo State Commissioner of Police CP Nemo Edwin-Iwo has ordered the immediate arrests of individuals plying the roads with tinted vehicles, unregistered, or with covered plate numbers and impounding of such vehicles.

A statement by SP Moses Joel Yamu, the Commands spokesperson, says that the order was to curb the menace of criminals, especially kidnapping, robbery and cultism in Edo State.

Part of the statement titled with : Edo Commissioner Of Police Unveils Strategy To Guarantee Safety Of The Public In The State, reads :

“The general public are by this notice, warned to desist from using such vehicles to avoid being arrested, because the law is a respected of nobody and no one will be spared.

“The Commissioner of Police further, appeals to the good people of Edo State to cooperate with the Police in its quest to ensure safety of lives and property of the general public, especially during this period of build up to election.”

Edo State joins a list of Nigerian states that has banned vehicles with tinted glass and covered/no number plates, amidst rising terrorism, militancy and kidnapping in the country. Delta, Lagos and Benue have also made the move.
