I can’t deny the fact that I so much enjoy traveling with my private car regardless of some challenges that may come with it. I have journeyed long distances like traveling from Enugu state to Niger state in my private car and I can boldly tell you I enjoyed my journey. I won’t lie, the security situation of the country got me scared at some point, but I just had to do what I had to do.

Few years ago, it was about “9 Reasons Why You Should Use Public Transport While Traveling”,this time around, the focus would be on using your private car for travel.

I will be taking you through the route of finding out the various advantages of traveling with your private car, as opposed to making use of public transport.

Here we go. Below are the advantages of traveling with your private car

1. You set off at a time convenient for you

When you travel with your private car, you don’t necessarily have to rush to meet up with time. If you’re to use a public transport, you just have to keep to time, else you would miss your bus as the case might be. With your private car, you don’t have to worry about that. You can move at any time safe and convenient for you.

2. You can make few cash

During the course of your travel, you can make some cash . You can achieve this by picking up passengers who are going towards your direction. You can decide to charge them a subsidized fee to make the offer catchy. Assuming the actual price to get to their destination is N2000, you can charge them N1000. With this, money for fuel don sure.

You have to be very careful if you decide to do this so you don’t end up carrying a beautiful and good-looking armed robber who would steal from you effortlessly or by the application of force. They are many out there, so you need to be extra careful.

Hint: Only pick people stopping before your final destination.

3. You can go off course

You can decide to go off course while traveling. Let’s say you’re traveling from Lagos to Enugu, you can decide to stop by at Onitsha and greet your dad’s cousin who you’ve not seen in a long while or to see your long time crush schooling in Unizik.

It might be a stressful thing to do with public transport.

4. You can pack all you want in your car

Traveling with your private car makes it easy for you to pack all you need for your journey. On the other hand, using public transport most times would bring out the conservative spirit in you. You will constrict yourself to taking only the most important things you need for the journey. You may not be able to travel carry along with you that ten tubers of yam you intend to gift your uncle because carrying such may attract extra unnecessary charges. You know how this play out in our country Nigeria.

5. You don’t have to dress up and go

If you want to use public transport, you have to dress up fine because you don’t even know if it’s the day you’ll meet the love of your life. You also have to smell nice so you don’t wreck havoc to other public transport users. But if you’re driving in your own private car, you have the liberty of putting on whatever that pleases you.

6. You move at your own pace

You can go slow or move fast the way you want. You don’t have to complain to the public transport driver how fast or slow he’s moving. You do your adjustment just the way you like it.
