NNPC Ltd Presents 35 CNG Buses To The Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGi)

NNPC Ltd. presents 35 CNG-powered buses to the Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas (Pi-CNG).
The move is part of FG efforts in supporting Nigeria’s transition to cleaner, more affordable energy for transportation.
Presentation comes two weeks after the PCNGI handed over 5 brand new CNG-powered buses to the Nigerian Army.
The Group CEO of Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, on Tuesday July 7 presented 35 CNG-powered buses to the Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas (Pi-CNG) at the NNPC Towers in Abuja.
The buses were received by Mr. Michael Oluwagbemi, CEO of Pi-CNG, in a ceremony that demonstrates NNPC Ltd.’s strategic commitment to deepening gas utilisation and supporting Nigeria’s transition to cleaner, more affordable energy for transportation.

“This milestone reflects a bold step toward reducing Nigeria’s carbon footprint, enhancing energy security, and providing long-term socio-economic benefits for Nigerians,” NNPC said in a statement.
“Through partnerships like this, NNPC Ltd. continues to lead the charge in accelerating the national gas expansion programme and powering the future with sustainable solutions.”
The presentation comes two weeks after the Presidential CNG Initiative (PCNGI) handed over 5 brand new CNG-powered buses to the Nigerian Army in Abuja, marking a bold step towards clean, cost-effective, and sustainable transport.
At the event, PCNGI also announced incentives for 5,000 Army personnel vehicle conversions, dedicated CNG stations, and capacity development programs to empower military families.
