Just How Many Mustang GTD Did Ford Make?
Unveiled August 17, 2023, the Ford Mustang GTD entered production in early 2025. Built by Multimatic in Canada, the limited-edition supercar is ramping up toward a target of 1,700 to 2,000 units. Recent sales data confirms production is gaining momentum as Ford and Multimatic scale operations for this complex project.
Multimatic produced 271 Mustang GTDs in 2025 and 384 units through August 2026, totalling 655 vehicles—over one-third of the production goal. Maintaining a steady pace of 40 units per month, Ford and Multimatic remain on track to reach their annual target.
Monthly production of the $300,000 Ford Mustang GTD fluctuates due to extensive customization. Options like bespoke paint, the Exclusive Extended Color Palette, and labour-intensive Liquid Carbon bodywork require precise, time-consuming craftsmanship. While the complex Mystichrome paint is unavailable, an upcoming Competition package promises further performance, though its status within the total production count remains unclear.
