27 Years After : Check Out The Armored Mercedes S-Class Limousine Used By Sani Abacha As Official Car
27 years after : Check out the armored Mercedes-Benz S-Class limousine used by General Sanni Abacha as official car.
The Mercedes-Benz S-Class now fitted with “NKPUME AZA OKUU” number plate was reportedly sold, following the death of Abacha.
On the outside, the V12-powered armored S-Class is decked with flag poles – where the Nigerian and military flags used to be.
Inside the armored Mercedes-Benz S600 limousine, the rear features four facing back seats for rear-seat passengers.
There doesn’t appear to be any doubt about the authenticity of the claim about who used to roll in this particular S-Class limousine.

It’s been 27 since the passing of General Sani Abacha, a Nigerian military dictator and Statesman, who ruled Nigeria with an iron-fist from 17 November 1993 until his death in 8 June 1998.
As Car guys, Autojosh stumbled into a video on Creative Lord TV YouTube channel, where an armored Mercedes-Benz S-Class limousine reportedly used by Abacha during his tenure was one of the highlight of a recent interview.

While many believed that this ride should be on display in a National Museum, the interviewee claimed the armored Mercedes-Benz S-Class fitted with “NKPUME AZA OKUU” number plate was sold to his brother, following the death of Abacha.
Thanks to the video tour of the exterior and interior seen by Autojosh, there doesn’t appear to be any doubt about the authenticity of his claims about who used to roll in this particular Mercedes-Benz S-Class limousine.

On the outside, the V12-powered armored S-Class is decked with flag poles for official occasions – where the Nigerian and military flags used to be, while the inside features four rear facing back seats for rear-seat passengers.
Specially created for Abacha, the limousine is based on Mercedes-Benz W140, also known as the S-Class, produced from 1991 to 1998. While available with a choice of V8 and V12 engines, this particular range-topping S600 is fitted with a 6.0-liter V12.
