Most Expensive In Africa : Burna Boy Takes Delivery Of His ₦9B Bugatti Chiron VXX

Burna Boy has finally taken delivery of his custom Bugatti Chiron VXX Special Edition, a one-off Venuum-branded masterpiece commissioned by the Nigerian-born, Grammy Award-winning music star as a birthday gift to himself.

Described as the “world’s first widebody Bugatti Chiron,” the Venuum-branded Bugatti Chiron VXX Special Edition is reportedly valued at about ₦9 billion, making it the most expensive car in Africa.

Trending photos circulating online show the Bugatti Chiron parked inside Burna Boy’s garage in Lagos shortly after its delivery. The bespoke Bugatti now joins Burna Boy’s already impressive multi-billion-naira supercar collection, which includes a Porsche 911 GT3 RS, Ferrari 812 GTS, McLaren Senna, and Lamborghini Revuelto.

The singer’s car collection also includes a Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, a Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600, a Ferrari Purosangue, a Lamborghini Urus, a Rolls-Royce Dawn, and a Rolls-Royce Cullinan—the latter two of which are fitted with diamond-encrusted bonnet ornaments.

Exploded CNG-Powered Toyota Camry: NADDC Warns Against Unapproved Conversions

The National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) has addressed the recent incident involving a CNG-retrofitted Toyota Camry, which exploded while refuelling at the NIPCO Gas Filling Station on Airport Road, Abuja, on September 13, 2026.

The Council confirmed that no fatalities or injuries were recorded in the incident, which occurred while the vehicle was being refuelled, adding that investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.

According to NADDC, preliminary information suggests that the vehicle may have been fitted with an additional cylinder that was neither approved nor suitable for compressed natural gas (CNG) use.

As the regulatory authority for Nigeria’s automotive industry, NADDC stressed that CNG conversions must be carried out using approved components and through professional installation at certified conversion centres.

₦417M 2026 Range Rover Sport Among ₦2.46bn Contraband Seized By Nigeria Customs

As part of efforts to combat smuggling, secure the nation’s borders and facilitate legitimate trade, the Ogun I Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) seized contraband and goods with a total Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N2.469 billion between August 14 and September 17, 2026.

During a press conference on Thursday, the Acting Area Controller of the Command, Deputy Comptroller Oladapo Afeni, paraded a new Range Rover Sport valued at ₦417 million, which he said was one of the major highlights of the command’s recent seizures.

“Ladies and gentlemen, one of the highlights of today’s briefing is the seizure of a 2026 Range Rover Sport Autobiography P530 worth N417,011,982,” he said, while noting that the total DPV of the seizures recorded during the period stood at N2,469,153,523.68.

Other seized items included 1,204 bags of foreign parboiled rice, 3,893 parcels of cannabis weighing 1.878 tonnes, 428 pneumatic tyres, 8,675 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) stored in kegs, 24 bales of second-hand clothing, four sacks of used shoes and 500 litres of diesel.
