Police Seizes Laide Bakare's Car For Driving On BRT Lane, Furious Nollywood Actress Pays N70,000 Fine - autojosh

Furious actress questioned why the police men arrested only her and allowed other motorists to use BRT lane.

Nollywood actress was driving her Toyota Highlander at the time she was arrested along the Owode Elede area of the state.





The Police Pubic Relations Officer (PPRO), Lagos State Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, has clarified that Nollywood actress, Laide Bakare, was arrested and fined for contravening Lagos State Transport Law (2018).

Laide Bakare, who was arrested by officials of the Nigerian Police Force for driving on the dedicated BRT lane in Lagos, had in a Instagram post called out some police officers for allegedly harassing her.





In the video shared online, the furious actress questioned why the police men arrested only her and allowed other motorists to drive through the lane dedicated to State-owned BRT buses.

Responding to her claim, Hundeyin in a post shared on X, said :

“You were stopped for contravening traffic laws by driving on the BRT lane. You chose to create a scene. You chose to remain out of your vehicle when it was being taken to LAMATA office.

“The officers were not going to succumb to your gimmick to hold them down at that spot. You rightly paid the correct fine for your offence – N70,000 – into government coffers. You left with the receipt and your vehicle. Not a finger was laid on you,” Hundeyin said in his tweet.

Hundeyin also shared the receipt of payment, which shows that Nollywood actress driving her Toyota Highlander at the time she was arrested along the Owode Elede area of the state.
