The Toyota Corolla is no doubt the most popular and the best-selling car model around, thanks to its good fuel mileage which allowed Toyota Motors to reach the milestone of 50 million Corollas sold over twelve generations in 2021.

Like models from previous generation, the 12th-generation Toyota Corolla offers impressive fuel efficiency as well an abundance of standard safety features that makes it a top pick in its segment.





The latest-gen Toyota Corolla is available in 8 trim levels, including the base sporty-ish SE sedan, Hybrid LE, SE Hatchback and Sedan, the range-topping
Hybrid XLE and XSE Sedan and the GR Corolla.

Inside, a new 8.0-inch infotainment screen come as standard, while the XSE and XLE trim now uses a redesigned 7.0-inch gauge cluster. Every Corolla has a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot.

Standard safety features includes Pre-Collision System With Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert With Steering Assist, Lane Tracing Assist and Road Sign Assist (RSA), which uses an intelligent camera to detect speed limit signs and stop signs.





Powering the 2023 Toyota Corolla is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 169 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque, which allows a zero to 60 mph in about nine seconds.

The GR Corolla’s turbocharged 1.6-liter three-cylinder engine gives 300 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, which helps a dash to 60 mph in a swift 4.9 seconds.

The 2023 Toyota Corolla starts at $21,700 MSRP, a price that rises to $23,155 for the midrange SE hatchback and $24,140 sedan models, while the well-equipped XSE trims starts at $26,580 for hatchback models and $26,850 for sedans.

But walking into a dealership in Nigeria will set you back at least ₦34,000,000 for a Toyota Corolla model with 1.6-liter three-cylinder engine while a model with 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine starts at ₦37,000,000.
