Volvo Has Patented A Novel Battery Technology

It has been announced that electric charging times will be equal to gasoline filling times. This innovation has been made possible by Volvo.
The Swedish car manufacturer has submitted a patent for groundbreaking battery technology that could potentially resolve one of the major challenges facing electric vehicles: lengthy charging times.
The aim is to achieve charging speeds comparable to refuelling a gasoline car. In an application to the European Patent Office, Volvo outlines a novel battery cell design. This innovative technology seeks to lessen heat generation during charging, which is crucial for enabling quicker charging.
The design deviates from conventional battery cells by curving the electrodes toward the cell’s centre. This modification enhances electrical conductivity and minimizes heat loss, facilitating speedier and more efficient charging. Besides quicker charging, this technology is anticipated to offer additional advantages such as less reliance on cooling systems and a more economical battery manufacturing process.
