Ken Block, an American professional rally driver, YouTube star, drift legend, dies in snowmobile accident in Utah.
He was riding on a steep hill when his snowmobile overturned and landed on top of him, causing him to die at the scene.
55-year-old car legend, who begun his rallying career in 2005, short to limelight with his daring stunts behind the wheel.
California-born rally driver also competed in other actions sports, including motocross, skateboarding and snowboarding.
American professional rally driver, YouTube star and co-founder of Hoonigan, Ken Block, has died after a snowmobile accident in Wasatch County, Utah, on Monday, January 2, 2023.
Block was riding on a steep hill when his snowmobile overturned and landed on top of him, causing him to die at the scene, the local sheriff’s office wrote on Facebook.
Hoonigan, a clothing company he co-owned, confirmed his passing in a statement on Instagram on Monday.
“It’s with our deepest regrets that we can confirm that Ken Block passed away in a snowmobile accident today,” a statement from Hoonigan says.
“Ken was a visionary, a pioneer and an icon. And most importantly, a father and husband. He will be incredibly missed. Please respect the family’s privacy at this time while they grieve”.
The 55-year-old car legend, who begun his rallying career in 2005, short to limelight with his daring stunts behind the wheel. He was also famous for his “Gymkhana” video series on YouTube.
The California-born rally driver has also competed in other actions sports, including motocross, skateboarding and snowboarding. He is survived by his wife and three children.
