A battered and rusty 1980 Range Rover SUV owned by reggae legend Bob Marley expected to fetch about $181,000 at UK auction.

The 43 year old Range Rover Classic was one of two owned by the Jamaican music legend, Bob Marley.

Range Rover currently has a smashed windscreen, a battered body and an engine that currently resides in its boot.

The now battered Range Rover SUV was one of purchases made just one year before his death in May 1981 at the age of 36.

In addition two Range Rover SUVs, Marley also owned a Land Rover that is currently in his former home, now a museum.

A battered and rusty 1980 Range Rover SUV formerly owned by legendary reggae star, Robert Nesta Marley, popularly known as Bob Marley, is expected to fetch a six-figure sum at a UK auction next month.

Reportedly ripe for restoration, the 43 year old Rangey will be offered to the highest bidder on 25 March at the Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show at the NEC in Birmingham from 24 – 26 March.

Classic Car Auctions (CCA) claim the 1980 Range Rover Classic was one of two owned by the Jamaican music legend, adding that it was obtained via an agent who dealt directly with the Marley family.

Despite having a smashed windscreen, a battered body and an engine that currently resides in its boot, the SUV is expeted to fetch around £150,000 (around $181,000) when the hammer drops.

The 43-year-old Range Rover was one of purchases made just one year before his death in May 1981 at the age of 36. CCA says the SUV was originally shipped to Marley from the Solihull factory via Germany to Jamaica.

In addition two Range Rover SUVs, Bob Marley also owned a matte-blue Land Rover SUV that is currently in his former home, now a museum, at 56 Hope Road in Kingston.
