New Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Ekleipsis inspired by the mystery of the solar eclipse, limited to just 25 units.

It explores the captivating interplay of light and darkness – recreates the moment when the Moon completely obscures the Sun.

Launch of Ghost Black Badge-based car coincides with the annular solar eclipse visible in parts of the Western Hemisphere on 14 October.





Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has introduced a new limited production series called the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Ekleipsis Private Collection which it says was inspired by the “drama, spectacle, and mystery of a solar eclipse.”

The Black Badge Ghost Ekleipsis Private Collection collection is based on the Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge, and only 25 will be made — all of which have been allocated to clients around the world.

According to Rolls-Royce, these exquisite commissions explore the captivating interplay of light and darkness, recreating the awe-inspiring moment when the Moon completely obscures the Sun.





“With Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Ékleipsis, we draw inspiration from a total solar eclipse : a seldom-seen and spellbinding phenomenon that reflects the rarity and beauty of Rolls-Royce Private Collections.” said Torsten Müller-Ötvös, the outgoing CEO of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.

The launch of these highly Bespoke Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge-based commissions coincides with the annular solar eclipse visible in parts of the Western Hemisphere on 14 October.

Standout features on the outside includes a stunning Bespoke finish that incorporates powdered copper pigment, which appears darker until it catches the light. Inserts below the Pantheon Grille and brake calipers is adorned with Mandarin — recalling the intense pulses of sunlight witnessed as the eclipse progresses.

Inside, it features a fully Bespoke Starlight Headliner with a special animation and it is programmed to replicate a solar eclipse – which is when the dark silhouette of the Moon completely obscures the bright light of the Sun.

As the coach doors close and the engine is started, the ‘stars’ in the Starlight Headliner darken and a mesmerising sequence begins – an animation which remains visible for precisely seven minutes and 31 seconds.

In addition, its illuminated dash fascia with Bespoke timepiece with a dazzling 0.5-carat diamond has 1,846 laser-etched ‘stars’ to depict the stages of a total solar eclipse. Its ‘Panoramic Sunset’ bi-coloured and perforated leather seats is also designed to create a 360-degree twilight effect seen at the moment of total solar eclipse.
