FG Begins 3-month Rehabilitation Works Of 11.8-km Third Mainland Bridge On November 1st

FG begins three-month rehabilitation works of 11.8-kilometer Third Mainland Bridge on Wednesday November 1st.
Maintenance job is the first phase of the comprehensive repair works meant to secure the integrity of the bridge.
Proposed rehabilitation works are scheduled to take place between midnight and 4a.m. and only on weekends.
The Federal Government on Saturday announced that a comprehensive rehabilitation of the 11.8-kilometer Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos will commence on Wednesday November 1st 2023 and last for three months.
The Minister of Works, Mr David Umahi, made this known on Saturday during an inspection of the under deck and lagoon sections of the Third Mainland Bridge as well as other bridges such as Carter, Independence, Falomo and Marina Bridge in Apapa.
Umahi said the proposed three-month maintenance job is the first phase of the comprehensive repair works meant to secure the integrity as well as the aesthetics of the upper deck of the Third Mainland Bridge.
Furthermore, he said that the aesthetics of the Third Mainland Bridge would include replacement of the railings, installation of solar-powered lights and CCTV cameras for optimal security of the bridge.
He assured that the entire length of the Third Mainland Bridge would undergo complete resurfacing with minimal discomfort to road users, with repairs scheduled to take place between midnight and 4a.m. and only on weekends.
