As expected, the luxury gift car worth around N45 million, sparked mixed reactions on social media.

Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, a member of the House of Representatives from Plateau State, has gifted his daughter, Aisha, a Lexus RX SUV to celebrate her graduation from Lead British International School.

Pictures of Aisha and her extravagant gift were posted to #northern_trending_ Instagram page on Sunday. The 43 year old lawmaker also shared the post by #northern_trending_, confirming the gift.

Though Gagdi didn’t shared the news of the gift on any of his social handles, he did shared photos from the graduation ceremony, expressing his pride and love for his daughter. He wrote :

“Today, I attended my amazing daughter’s graduation ceremony. Watching you, my dear daughter, walk across that stage fills my heart with immense pride and love.

“I celebrate your achievements and the strength you’ve shown. Here’s to a future filled with endless possibilities and happiness. Congratulations, my shining star!”

As expected, the luxury car gift worth around N45 million, sparked mixed reactions on social media with some praising the lawmaker’s generosity while others criticized the lavish gift.

A user, who was against his extravagance, wrote :

“It’s not surprising to see that a car, which even university graduates and professors dream of owning, is given as a gift to a secondary school graduate. If she completes university, she might receive a private jet or a personal yacht as a gift.”

But another user who defended Gagdi’s decision, wrote :

“Hon. Gagdi only displayed the car he gifted to his daughter after graduation from secondary school. People celebrate their children according to their pockets. This is nothing new in Abuja. And this is even a gift from dad to his daughter.”
