EFCC arrests 98 suspected internet fraudsters in Enugu and Kwara State, recovers 28 luxury cars, mobile phones.

Anti-graft agency arrested 51 suspected internet fraudsters in Enugu while 47 were arrested in Ilorin. 

EFCC said both arrests followed credible intelligence that linked the suspects to fraudulent internet activities.

Some of the luxury cars recovered from the suspects includes a black Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 and a silver Lexus RX 330.

Also displayed are Mercedes-Benz C-Class, black Lexus ES 350, a Range Rover Evoque, a gray Toyota Avalon and a red Toyota Camry.

Operatives of the Enugu Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 51 suspected internet fraudsters and recovered 18 luxury cars, laptop computers and high grade mobile phones.

In a statement, the anti-graft agency said that the Enugu suspects, made up of three females and 48 males, were arrested in Premier Layout area of the state capital.

In a separate intelligence-driven operation, the Ilorin Zonal Directorate of EFCC arrested 47 suspects and recovered 10 luxury cars, 74 high grade mobile phones, 18 laptop computers, and a motorcycle.

“The Ilorin 47 were picked up along Awolowo Road, Tanke, and Harmony Estate areas of the city as well as in Ganmo and Amoyo in the Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state.”

“Both arrests followed credible intelligence that linked the suspects to fraudulent internet activities. They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.”
