LASG : ANPR Cameras Captured 737,340 Traffic Violations In The Last 12 Months – Over 80% Rise
ANPR Cameras deployed across Lagos State captured 737,340 traffic violations captured in the last 12 months.
In comparison, over 470,000 traffic violations were reported by Commissioner for Transportation a year ago.
The Lagos State Drivers’ Institute (LASDRI) also conducted 43,758 trainings between May 2025 to date.
The Lagos State Government has revealed that over 737,340 traffic violations were captured in the last 12 months by the Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras deployed across the state to enforce traffic regulations and monitor vehicles.
Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, disclosed on Monday May 11 during the 2026 Ministerial Press Briefing, as part of activities to commemorate the third year of the second term of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.
The number of traffic violations was over 80 percent compared to the 470,000 traffic violations reported by the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation a year ago during the 2025 Ministerial Press Briefing.
Speaking further at the Ministerial Press Briefing, Osiyemi also disclosed that over 56,876 driver licences were processed within the review period, in collaboration with the Motor Vehicle Administration Agency (MVAA) and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
Additionally, Osiyemi also mentioned that 1,158 International Driver’s Permits were successfully processed while over 1.1 million (1,114,080) Roadworthiness Certificates was issued by the Lagos State Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS), reinforcing compliance with vehicle safety standards across the State.
Last year, the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA), in collaboration with the other emergency response agencies, also reportedly rescued over 1,250 emergency victims while the Lagos State Drivers’ Institute (LASDRI) conducted 43,758 trainings between May 2025 to date.
