Acura ZDX Electric SUV Has Been Discontinued Just After A Year

A car will inevitably flop now and then. Car manufacturers simply can’t be completely certain beforehand, and some cars are more successful than others.

The solution could be found in price reductions, early facelifts, and premature demise. However, we rarely see a completely new model being discontinued after just one year. However, according to Automotive News, this is indeed the case with the Acura ZDX.

The Acura ZDX, unveiled in 2023 and released on the US market in 2024, is now being discontinued from the Acura lineup after just one year on the market and 20,000 units sold, according to insiders. This isn’t just due to the car itself, but also to the fact that the Trump administration is abolishing the national US EV subsidy. Without those thousands of dollars in rebates, the electric Acura is apparently considered completely hopeless. This naturally raises all sorts of questions about the Honda Prologue, an EV also developed by Honda itself with GM. According to Honda, that car will be allowed to remain, but an expert tells Automotive News that the Prologue will also be discontinued next year. We’ll just have to wait and see.
