LAMATA Shows Off The Iconic Marina Train Station For The Lagos Blue Rail Line System (Photos)
LAMATA shows off the nearly completed iconic Marina Train Station for the Lagos Blue Line rail system.
The infrastructure, an elevated station, would be a transportation hub that would offer intermodal transportation services.
When completed, it is expected to have Ticketing area, a Control room, Passenger information display board as well as ATM point.
First phase of the Blue Rail Line will traverses between Mile 2 and Marina while the 2nd Phase will get to Okokomaiko.
Blue Rail Line will be operated on EMUs, a multiple-unit train consisting of self-propelled carriages using electricity.



The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) has updated Lagosians on the current state of progress of the iconic Marina Station of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line rail system.
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has already promised to complete the Marina Terminus of the Blue Line by end of 2022. The infrastructure, which will be an elevated station, would be a transportation hub that would offer intermodal transportation services.

“At Marina Station, not only are we building rail tracks, underneath we will have a bus station as well for the BRT and First-and-Last Mile buses. There will also be a ferry service at the Marina Station for those who want to travel through the waterways,” Sanwo-Olu said during an inspection of the both Blue and Red Line Train Projects months back
The Blue Line project, which started in 2010, is currently at over 90 percent completion. When completed and opened for services, the Marina Train Station is expected to have Ticketing and Sitting area, a Control room, Passenger information display board as well as ATM point.


The first phase of the 27.5-kilometre, 13-station Lagos Blue Rail Line will traverses between Mile 2 in the east and Marina in the west while the 2nd Phase will get to Okokomaiko.
The Lagos Blue Rail Line will be operated on Electric Motor Unit (EMUs), which is a multiple-unit train consisting of self-propelled carriages using electricity as the motive power.
