Lexus Showcases Sport Concept’s Interior

The Lexus Sport Concept was first unveiled a few months ago at the Monterey Auto Week and is now on display at the Tokyo Motor Show, where its interior was also revealed.

In any case, the Sport Concept provides us with a preview of Lexus’ future sports car.

Progressively styled and forward-looking, yet a truly authentic sports car, it signals the way forward for Lexus design. This inspiring concept car features a wide, low-profile two-door form that fuses dynamic and emotional elements into a vision of the next-generation sports car.

The production model is expected to be named LFR, drawing inspiration from Lexus’ GT3 racing program.

With dramatic styling, cameras in the mirrors, an active rear spoiler, and a design homage to the legendary Lexus LFA, the Sport Concept is said to be a blend of performance heritage and future technology.

The interior features a futuristic, driver-focused design. The steering wheel has a number of physical switches and buttons. There’s also a button labelled “F-mode” that puts the concept in its strongest performance setting. There’s also a Custom button that allows you to combine different settings.

Behind the steering wheel is a curved screen, with a main central section containing key information such as the speedometer and two auxiliary displays on the sides. The entire setup is housed in a kind of pod that wraps around the driver’s seat, giving the feeling of a fighter jet cockpit and creating a clear boundary between the white fabric on the driver’s side and the black upholstery on the passenger side.

The production version will likely arrive by the end of 2026, following the debut of the GT3 race car in the World Endurance Championship.

As expected, the production model will be powered by a V8 engine, likely with the integration of hybrid assistance for global compliance with emissions regulations.
