The Mercedes‑Benz and Italian luxury fashion brand, Moncler S.p.A., have expanded their collaboration with the launch of a 90s-inspired, limited-edition G-Class called the “Mercedes‑Benz G-Class Past II Future”.
Limited to just 20 vehicles worldwide, the exclusive model, designed by Japanese fashion designer, disc jockey (DJ) and record producer, NIGO, blends 1990s heritage with contemporary design.
On the outside, the limited-edition G-Class models features a two-tone olive green and grey paint job that matches the one-of-one 1990s G-Class art piece dubbed “Project G‑Class Past II Future”, also designed by Nigo.
It also features the Past II Future lettering on the signature bumper guards, a rear-mounted spare wheel with the collaboration logo on its cover and as well as a blacked-out metal wheels and window frames.
Inside, its retro cabin is finished in black and deep green shade of hide. For exclusivity, a “1 of 20” limited series number is inscribed on the centre console while the Past II Future lettering can be found on the grab handle.
Speaking on the collaboration, NIGO said :
“For me, the ‘90s were among the most influential decades from a cultural and creative standpoint. Electronic music and the hip-hop scene arose as a new expression of urban character.
“I wanted to integrate that vibe and energy into the design of the Project G-Class Past II Future by interpreting that legacy for a new contemporary era.”
The Mercedes-Benz G-Class Past II Future models are based on the new G 450 d and the 2025 G 500. Mercedes-Benz didn’t announce pricing for the special G, but it said that the 20 cars will be delivered to customers in April 2025.
