Mercedes-Benz reveals ‘Vision Iconic’, a new show car with a large grille, illuminated 3-pointed star.

Boasts a grille inspired by the upright grilles of legendary models like the W 108, W 111 and the 600 Pullman.

While the driver gets a four spoke steering wheel, Vision Iconic boasts a Level 4 system, which allows hands-free driving.

Mercedes-Benz took part at this year’s Shanghai Fashion Week with the unveiling of the futuristic ‘Vision Iconic’, the brand’s latest show car inspired by the golden era of automotive design of the 1930s.

On the exterior, the centrepiece of the Vision Iconic is the so-called iconic grille, which draws inspiration from the upright grilles fitted to legendary models like the W 108, W 111 and the Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman.

Mercedes-Benz says that the iconic grille, which features a wide chromed frame and an integrated contour lighting, as well as the illuminated three-pointed star on the bonnet, helps radiates the presence of the Vision Iconic.

Like on the exterior, the interior of Vision Iconic represents a new kind of journey, with the centrepiece of the instrument panel being the floating glass structure, which Mercedes-Benz called “Zeppelin”.

While the driver gets a four spoke steering wheel, Mercedes-Benz said that the Vision Iconic boasts a Level 4 system, which when activated, allows the driver to take a nap or get comfortable while streaming the latest trending video.

“Inspired by the golden era of automotive design of the 1930s, this show car embodies the pure essence of Mercedes‑Benz,” said Markus Schäfer, Mercedes Chief Technology Officer, Development & Procurement.

“With groundbreaking innovations such as neuromorphic computing, steer-by-wire, solar paint, and Level 4 highly automated driving, along with state-of-the-art technology, we are setting new standards for the electric and digital age”.
