NNPC Ltd mobilizes hundreds of Tanker Trucks to Dangote Refinery Limited (DRL) ahead of start of fuel loading on Sunday.

The NNPC had earlier debunked claims that it is undermining the business, noting that it holds a billion-dollar stake in it.

Also said it has no desire or intention to become the distributor for any entity in a free market environment.





The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd. has mobilized hundreds of Tanker Trucks to the Dangote Refinery Limited (DRL) in Ibeju-Lekki ahead of commencement of fuel loading on Sunday, September 15, 2024.

In a posts on its social media pages, the NNPC shares pictures of over hundreds of Tanker trucks parked at the Loading Gantry ahead of lifting of refined petrol.

“In preparation for the Dangote Refinery’s scheduled petrol loading on Sunday, September 15, 2024, NNPC Ltd. has been mobilizing trucks to the refinery’s fuel loading gantry in Ibeju-Lekki.

“As of Saturday afternoon, NNPC Ltd. had deployed over 100 trucks, with hundreds more en route,” NNPCL added.

The NNPC Ltd had earlier debunked claims that the Dangote Refinery Limited (DRL) is being undermined by its actions, noting that “The NNPC Ltd. cannot undermine a business in which it holds a billion-dollar stake.”





“NNPC Ltd. has no desire or intention to become the distributor for any entity in a free market environment, and therefore, the notion of becoming a sole offtaker does not arise.”

“The NNPC Ltd. will only fully offtake PMS from the DRL if the market prices of PMS are higher than the pump prices in Nigeria.”

“The DRL and any other domestic refinery are free to sell directly to any marketer on a willing buyer, willing seller basis, which is the current practice for all fully deregulated products.”
