President Bola Tinubu appointments Adewale Adeniyi Bashir as substantive Comptroller-General Of Customs.

His appointment takes effect from 19th Oct, and his tenure is in accordance with the extant provisions of the Public Service Rules.

He was first appointed on 19th June 2023 as the Acting Comptroller-General of Customs, replacing Hameed Ibrahim Ali.





Adewale Adeniyi Bashir has finally been confirmed as the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) by His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

This was contained in a Press Release issued by Willie Bassey, Director, Information for the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, on the 20th of October, 2023.

“His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has approved the confirmation of the appointment of Adewale Adeniyi (MFR) as the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service.

“The appointment takes effect from 19th October 2023, and his tenure is in accordance with the extant provisions of the Public Service Rules (PSR),” the statement said.

Recall that Adewale Adeniyi was appointed on 19th June 2023 as the Acting Comptroller-General of Customs, CGC, replacing Hameed Ibrahim Ali, a retired army officer who held the position from 2015 to 2023.

Since his appointment in June, Adewale Adeniyi has embarked on the journey towards enhancing customs efficiency through international collaborations, cutting-edge technologies such as AI-driven solutions and innovative projects that are aimed at shaping the future of customs practices in Nigeria.
