Governor Sanwo-Olu procures additional trains for the Blue Line and Red Line Rail operations from China.

Reiterates his commitment to complete the second phase of the Blue Line, initiate the commercial operations of the Red Line.

Says his administration focuses on reducing traffic congestion and enhancing the overall quality of life in the city.





Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Thursday said his administration has procured additional rolling stocks (trains) for the Blue Line and Red Line Rail operations, in a bid to improve the commuting experience for Lagosians as well reduce traffic congestion.

“I am pleased to announce that we have secured additional trains- rolling stocks for the Blue Line and Red Line rail operations, aimed at providing relief to millions of Lagos residents,” Sanwo-Olu said.

“These new rolling stocks are expected to arrive at different points of the year, thanks to our team’s efforts and our partners’ collaboration.

“With these new rolling stocks, we anticipate more predictable journey times, increased commuter commitment, and an overall improvement in the city’s transportation landscape.

During a recent meeting with the President and management of the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) in Beijing, China, Sanwo-Olu reiterated his commitment to complete the second phase of the Blue Line rail project and initiate the commercial operations of the Red Line rail project.





“Our focus is on improving the commuting experience for our citizens, reducing traffic congestion, and enhancing the overall quality of life in the city.

“We have already completed phase one of the Blue Line and have seen a significant rise in passenger traffic. Our commitment to the second phase remains steadfast, and we aim to complete it within our current term.”
