Sterling Bank Plc partners with Borno State-based EV maker

Sterling Bank Plc has partnered with Mustapha Gajibo, a Borno State-based automobile engineer and MD Phoenix Renewables Ltd, who converts Internal Combustion Engine (ICE)-vehicles into battery-powered ones.

According to a tweet shared by Ovie Ali Onovwo-Omasoro, the partnership will see the introduction of all-electric bus shuttle services along Victoria Island Lagos, as well as the construction solar-powered charging stations along the route.





Last year, Gajibo attracted the attention of VP Yemi Osinbajo and the DG of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) Jelani Aliyu, after showing off some of his works, including electric, solar-powered commercial buses and tricycles.

Sanwo-Olu Reduces Fares Of BRT, Boat & LAGRIDE By 50%

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Wednesday announced a 50 per cent cut in fares on all our BRT buses, LAGRIDE taxi-scheme, First Mile and Last Mile buses, and Lagos Ferry Services (LAGFERRY).

Sanwo-Olu said that the fare reduction was put in place to cushion the effects of the fuel and naira scarcity in the country, adding that it price slash will take effect from tomorrow (Thursday) for the next seven days

“This will take effect from tomorrow (Thursday) for the next seven days. We will push out more Cowry Cards to enable more Lagosians get onboard our services.”, he said.

Customs On Recalled 8,000+ Kia Recalls Sorento 2020-2022 Model Over Safety Issues

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has drawn the attention of the motoring public who owns Kia brand after the automaker issued safety recalls for over 8,000 Kia Sorento (MQ4) SUVs made between the year 2020 and 2022.





“The EU explained that, due to production issues, a crack may develop in the Circuit Board of the Transmission Electric Oil Pump (EOP) which can cause failure, loss of Hydraulic pressure, and consequently the risk of an accident.”

“Therefore, the Nigeria Customs Service wishes to advise Motor Dealers, Stakeholders, and the General Public to be wary of the aforementioned categories of vehicles for their continued safety and well-being.”
