Toyota To Launch Hybrid Electric Variants Of Prado, RAV4 And Cross Into Nigerian Market

Toyota Nigeria Limited (TNL) to launch Hybrid Electric variants of Cross, RAV4, Land Cruiser Prado into Nigerian market.

MD of TNL made this known on while speaking with journalists at the Toyota Motor Show held between June 27-29th 2024.

TNL would also be lending its big network of workshops for vehicle conversion to CNG-powered to support FG’s campaign.

Toyota Nigeria Limited (TNL), the sole distributor of Toyota vehicles in Nigeria, has announced plans to roll out three hybrid electric variants of the Cross, RAV4 and Land Cruiser Prado into the Nigerian market as part of its support for the government’s green deal initiative.

Managing Director of TNL, Mr. Kunle Ade-Ojo, made this known on Friday while speaking with journalists at the maiden edition of the Toyota Motor Show held between June 27-29th 2024 at the Podium Lekki.

Ade-Ojo said :

“By the end of this year, we’ll be introducing our first hybrid electric vehicle, the Cross. Next year, we’ll introduce the RAV4 hybrid and late next year or early 2026, we will bring in the Land Cruiser Prado hybrid in line with the government’s green deal initiative,” he said.

To support the Federal Government’s campaign for the use of Compressed Natural Gas-powered vehicles, Ade-Ojo also said TNL would be lending its big network of workshops for vehicle conversion to CNG-powered.

“We are almost concluding arrangements with different partners to use our network of workshops for converting vehicles to CNG-powered on customers’ request,” he said.

At the exclusive, maiden edition of the Toyota Motor Show, TNL unveiled two all-new Toyota models – the Belta sedan and the Rumion MUV into the lucrative Nigerian automotive market.

Also at the motor show, TNL also had some of its fast-selling models on display, including off-road-ready Hilux pickup truck, the Corolla, Starlet and SUVs like Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series and Prado.
