1-of-40 Bugatti Divo Hypercar Sells For $8.6 Million, Sets New Auction Record

1-of-40 Bugatti Divo sells for $8.6 million at Bonhams Cars Quail Auction during Monterey Car Week, sets new auction record.

The line-up of 109 lots featured a collection of 24 modern machines, many of which were being publicly offered for the first time.

Other highlights included a 2021 Chiron Pur Sport ($3.96m), a 2023 Chiron Super Sport ($3.4m) and a 2017 Pagani Huayra Roadster ($3.3m). 

In all, the Bonhams Cars Quail Auction delivered a grand total of $44.7m, achieved an impressive 96% sell-through rate.

A 1-of-only-40 2020 Bugatti Divo achieved an auction world-record price of $8.6 million at the weekend, making the Chiron-based hypercar a star of the Bonhams Cars Quail Auction during Monterey Car Week.

At the time of unveiling, the Divo was sold out despite the starting price of $5.9 million. While the Divo is based on the Chiron and shares the same 8-litre quad-turbo W16 engine, it is specially designed to bend corners while the Chiron is made for straight-lines.

Before finding a new owner at the weekend, this Bugatti Divo, with fewer than 800 miles on the odometer, was a former star of the Petersen Museum’s celebrated exhibition “Hypercars : The Allure of the Extreme”.

Other highlights at the Bonhams Cars Auction included a 2021 Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport, which sold for $3.96 million, a 2023 Bugatti Chiron Super Sport, which sold for $3.4 million and a 2017 Pagani Huayra Roadster, which went for $3.3 million.
