Bugatti has unveiled the all-new Destrier, the latest Masterpiece from its ultra-exclusive Programme Solitaire and its third one-of-one creation, named after the prized and powerful warhorse once ridden by medieval knights in battle.

Set to make its public debut during Monterey Car Week, culminating at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 16, 2026, the Destrier joins the Brouillard and FKP Hommage as the third one-of-one creation from Bugatti’s Programme Solitaire.

While the Brouillard and FKP Hommage are based on the W16 Mistral and the Chiron Super Sport, respectively, the Destrier is based on the Bolide, Bugatti’s track-focused hypercar and its answer to the Mercedes-AMG One and the Aston Martin Valkyrie.

At just one meter (39.4 inches) tall, the Destrier is dramatically lower than any other Bugatti model. Unlike the track-bred Bolide, Bugatti’s latest one-off lacks the wings, vents, and aerodynamic addenda, as this work of art was never built to be raced on a track.

At the front, the Destrier differentiates itself from the Bolide with a wider Bugatti horseshoe grille, while at the rear, its elegantly blended wing echoes the Chiron Profilée, closing the silhouette with the same quiet grace.

“Destrier is not a car you understand with your head, it is a car you feel with your heart. The Bolide gave us the most extreme proportions we have ever created, and by freeing them from the Bolide’s relentless pursuit of downforce, we let them speak as pure sculpture,” said Frank Heyl, Bugatti Director of Design.

The Destrier is finished in Sapphire Celeste, an exclusive bespoke blue exterior color with a diamond-like sparkle, while polished aluminum brightwork provides an elegant contrast to the refined blue hue.

Inside, the Destrier pairs timeless warm brown leather and nubuck with a custom 3D-knitted textile, setting it even further apart from the Bolide’s stripped-back, motorsport-focused cockpit.

Additionally, the cabin features hammered brightwork finishes on the door opener, air vents, steering wheel hub, and entry plate, while a small French flag sits at its heart as a tribute to the marque’s origins.

Powering the Destrier is the most powerful version of the 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine, first fitted to the $4.6 million Bugatti Bolide, producing a staggering 1,874 horsepower (1,900 PS) and 1,849 Nm (1,364 lb-ft) of torque at the peak of its development.

“Just as the Type 57 chassis gave the world both a Le Mans winner and the Atlantic, one platform has now produced two entirely different masterpieces. I believe Destrier will be gracing Concours lawns 50 years from now,” Frank Heyl adds.
