Important note: The first Ferrari car was built in 1940. However, the company’s inception as an auto manufacturer is usually recognized in 1947, when the first Ferrari-badged car was completed. The horse was adopted and a yellow background was used to represent the town of Modena, the Ferrari factory’s location. But the car emblems could not be used for the cars, initially — it was seen only on Ferrari’s publications and papers since Alfa Romeo technically owned the cars.
