Ferrari F40 Worth $2.5M Crashes Into Barrier During Classic Car Event To Mark Brand’s 75th Anniversary
Ferrari F40 supercar worth $2.5 million crashes into barrier during classic car event to mark brand’s 75th anniversary.
It is one of several classic motorcars which took part in the mountain race with challenging 12 corners.
The Ferrari F40 is a limited-production supercar from the 1990s that is worth up to £2million today.
Just 1,315 examples of the F40 were made by Ferrari between 1987 and 1992 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Ferrari.

A rare Ferrari F40 supercar was left crumpled on Sunday after smashing into a barrier during a classic car event in the Swiss mountains, as part of the Ferrari’s 75th anniversary.
The driver of the F40 and spectators were not injured, according to local reports. But the same cannot be said for the Ferrari F40 supercar which suffered massive damages to its front-end.
Video posted to YouTube didn’t capture the actual crash, but it shows moment before the F40 lost control near a twisty road up and the aftermath of the crash while the F40 was being lifted onto the back of a truck.
The F40 had joined a fleet of classic motorcars for the 2022 Kerenzerbergrennen hill climb race through the Swiss mountains, an event described as “travelling museum.”

Kerenzerbergrennen president Peter Rufibach told the Swiss site 20 Min:
“In the area where the accident happened, the track is anything but demanding,”
“The event is like a travelling museum. Some drive slower and others faster. In the area where the accident happened, the track is anything but demanding,”

The mid-engine rear-wheel drive Ferrari F40 is powered by a 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8, making 471-horsepower, allowing it to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.1 seconds.
