All-new 2024 BMW 7-Series Protection And i7 Protection Will Stop Bullets And Explosives

All-new 2024 BMW 7-Series Protection, i7 Protection are two new models designed to stop bullets and explosives.
Rated VR9, BMW Protection models offer customised protection from attacks with firearms or explosives for at-risk individuals.
They feature a self-supporting body structure made from armor steel, reinforced underbody and roof, and armored glass.
BMW i7 Protection will be able to sprint to 62 mph from rest in 9.0 seconds, while the petrol-engined version will do this in 6.6 seconds.
Both Protection models have top speed that is electronically limited to 160 km/h (99 mph) and 210 km/h (130 mph) respectively.
German automaker, the BMW Group, has unveiled the all-new 2024 BMW 7-Series Protection and i7 Protection, two new bulletproof models developed on the basis of the latest-generation of the flagship 7 Series ultra-luxury sedan.
Rated VR9, the BMW Protection models offer customised protection from attacks with firearms or explosives for at-risk individuals. They feature a self-supporting body structure made from armor steel, reinforced underbody and roof, and armored glass.
BMW first announced a first-ever Protection model will be joining the i7’s lineup this year after the G7 Summit in Schloss Elmau in Upper Bavaria on June 26, 2022.
“We will continue this tradition in 2023 with a high-security vehicle combining the dynamic prowess, ride comfort and interior comfort of the new BMW 7 Series with an integrated protection concept that is unique in this segment,” said BMW CEO Oliver Zipse.
“And we will also introduce an all-electric high-security vehicle for the first time – with no comprises when it comes to the standard of protection for our customers. It will be based on the BMW i7, demonstrating how sustainability and security can go hand in hand.”
Both BMW Protection models are fitted with 20-inch light-alloy wheels and rides on PAX tyres with runflat ring, which allows the car to continue its journey at up to 80 km/h (50 mph) even in the event of a total loss of pressure.
Due to the armouring, the new BMW i7 Protection will be able to sprint to 62 mph from rest in 9.0 seconds, while top speed is electronically limited to 160 km/h (99 mph). The petrol-engined version of the new protection sedan will do this in 6.6 seconds and goes on to reach a top speed of 210 km/h (130 mph).
The two BMW Protection vehicles are set to make their public debut at the IAA Mobility 2023 International Motor Show in Munich between 5th Sept and 10 Sept 2023, with customer deliveries set for December 2023.
