A Nigerian man shares unbelievable experience he and his family had while riding in a Waymo self-driving Jaguar SUV in San Francisco.

A Nigerian man has shared the unbelievable experience he and his family had while being chauffeured by a Waymo self-driving Jaguar I-Pace SUV in San Francisco, United States America.
Video shared shows the moment the driverless robotaxi arrived to pick up the man and his family up after using an App to call it – which is very similar to summoning an Uber.
In a now-trending video, the man can be heard saying :
“This white car coming right now; nobody drives it. And it’s waiting for us; it came here for us. See, nobody is in this car. It came here to pick us up.”
After boarding the car, the man, who sat at the front passenger side, hit a button on the central touchscreen to start the ride, “The car is moving,” the man said in the video.
Unlike human-piloted vehicles, self-driving autonomous vehicles like this Waymo Jaguar I-Pace obey traffic rules as seen in the video shared.
“This is a traffic light; the car is stopping behind the other car in front of us at the light. Now that the light is showing green, it’s moving again.”
“This is San Francisco, California, ladies and gentlemen. See the passengers : my wife, my daughter, and my son at the back, and I’m in the front.”
Like all autonomous vehicles, the Waymo self-driving Jaguar I-Pace SUV this family rode in is packed with sensors and cameras to help drive and navigate the routes without the need of a driver.
“Look, no driver! This is unbelievable. The car is just driving itself, taking us to where we want to go. Wonderful!, adding that “America will not cease to amaze me. Wow!”
“You have seen it. We are in Nigeria debating about N62,000 minimum wage, and the whole world is leaving us behind. I hope we realise what we are doing to ourselves.”
