Zeekr Unveils Flagship 9X SUV To Rival Rolls-Royce Cullinan - But For A Fraction Of The Cost - autojosh

Geely-owned Zeekr unveils flagship 9X SUV to rival $350k-plus Rolls-Royce Cullinan… but for a fraction of the cost.

The Zeekr 9X features CATL’s new Xiaoyao battery, delivering an all-electric range of 380km (236 miles).

It can do 0-100km/h (0-60 mph) in 3 seconds – which is on par with Lamborghini Aventador sports car.

The Zeekr 9X SUV, the first plug-in hybrid model from the brand, is set for a global launch in Q3 2025.

Geely-owned Chinese automaker Zeekr has unveiled the Zeekr 9X at this year’s Shanghai Auto Show – its flagship luxury SUV and its answer to the $350k-plus Rolls-Royce Cullinan… but for a fraction of the cost.

The 9X not only wants to steal Rolls-Royce Cullinan customers – and of course that of Bentley Bentayga and Range Rover – but also takes design cews from the Rolls-Royce Cullinan.

“Our direct competitors will be Rolls-Royce and Maybach in the future…. No guts, no glory,” the company’s Vice President of Global Design, Stefan Sielaff, told Forbes about how far he intends to take Zeekr into the luxury space.

The Zeekr 9X’s Rolls-Royce Cullinan-inspired exterior design is highlighted by 42,242 laser-engraved, diamond-cut lamp facets, creating a captivating “starry sky” effect.

The 9X, the first plug-in hybrid model from the brand, features CATL’s new Xiaoyao battery, delivering an all-electric range of 380km (236 miles) – the longest in the world for a hybrid model.

With a blistering 0-100km/h (0-60 mph) acceleration in 3 seconds – which is on par with a Lamborghini Aventador, Zeekr said the three-plus-ton 9X sets a new benchmark for hybrid electrified performance.

The SUV debuts Zeekr’s latest G-Pilot H9 autonomous driving system, powered by dual Thor chips, 5 LiDAR sensors, and a staggering 1,400 TOPS computing power, enabling the advanced L3-level driving capabilities.

The ultra-luxe Chinese seven-seater SUV is set for a global launch in Q3 2025. Zeekr hasn’t announced pricing of the 9X, but it is expected to be priced between ¥500k ($68,000) and ¥1m ($136,000), according to Zeekr comments reported by Car News China.
