Most people already know this ,coined from the name of the founder Enzo Ferrari .
2.Fiat
Coined from the acronym of Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino (translated as -Italian Automobile Factory of Turin).

One of the most popular brand of cars ,we have all heard the inspiring story of Henry Ford ,the founder.
4.Honda
The name of this brand was coined from its founder’s name Soichiro Honda.
5.Hyundai
Hyundai , connotes the sense of “the present age” or “modernity” translated from Korean.
6.Mercedes
The Mercedes automobile was first marketed in 1901 by Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft. (Daimler Motors Corporation). Emil Jellinek, an Austrian automobile entrepreneur who worked with DMG created the trademark in 1902, naming the 1901 Mercedes 35 hp after his daughter Mercedes Jellinek- culled from Wikipedia.

This Japanese brand’s name was coined from the Japanese name for the constellation known to Westerners as Pleiades or the Seven Sisters. Subaru’s parent company, Fuji Heavy Industries, was formed from a merger of six companies, and the constellation is featured on the company’s logo.
13.Toyota
What we all know as Toyota today was once called “Toyeda”,coined from the founders name Sakichi Toyoda.It was later changed to Toyota after a contest to determine a better sounding name .
14.Volkswagen
The history of this car brand has a lot of twist and turns and some unexpected revelations.The word volkswagen means “People’s car” in German. It was started in the 1930s, at the request of the country’s leader, Adolf Hitler
15.Volvo
Simple and short -Volvo means “I roll” in Latin.
